I love this cabbage momos in veg version but I love to add some Soya chunks ( made into keema/ minced) and Paneer along with it and not simply make of cabbage only. If you have other vegetables like carrot , spinach etc. at home you can add that too. No need to cook the Vegetables first, but many prefer to do, it will steam and cook once you steam the momos. The dough is simply of maida and water at room temperature but you will have to make a tight kind of dough not soft like when you make Puri or roti.

  1. 350 gms Cabbage chopped
  2. 300 gm Paneer smashed
  3. 50 gms Soya chunks minced
  4. 1 green onion stalk chopped
  5. 250 gms Onion chopped
  6. 2 tsps Ginger paste
  7. 3 tsps Soya sauce
  8. 50 gms Butter
  9. as reqierd Veg stock cube / bullion (optional)
  10. as per taste Salt as per taste
  11. 1/2 tsp Black pepper

  13. 400 gms Maida
  14. 1 cup water

Steps to make to make Veg momo (with Cabbage, Paneer & Soya chunks)

  1. Soak the soya chunks in hot water for 15-20 minutes till it's soft. Chop all the ingredients as listed. I have used the chopper received as a gift in #cookpad to chop and mince everything as mentioned in the ingredients list.
  2. For the cabbage, after you chop add 1/2 tsp salt and let it rest for 20 mins or so, after that squeeze the water out of it (and add the water in soup if you are making or in curry later on) otherwise your stuffing will become very wet n we don't want wet kind of stuffing.
  3. If the stuffing is wet/ watery it will be difficult to make the momo and seal the edges as we are not going to pre cook the stuffing. Add all the ingredients now and mix first everything except the salt after that add the salt after checking. Let it rest in the fridge in the meantime you prepare the dough. Mix room temperature water to the flour as needed and knead it into a tight dough so that we don't need extra dry flour when we roll it out. Cover & Let it rest for 20 minutes.
  4. Now take small dough balls and roll it out and fill the stuffing and make momos as per the shape you want to make and steam for 30 mins and serve hot with chutney and soup (optional).
